SQF (Safe Quality Food) and
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point)
Riceland Crawfish, Inc. is one of the only crawfish and alligator processing plants
that distribute throughout the United States and is both SQF and HACCP certified.
We are committed to sustainability as it relates to the seafood products we process.
Since there is no established sustainability certification criteria for the crawfish industry,
Riceland Crawfish, Inc. has formed a sustainability advisory committee
to support the Audubon Nature Institute’s G.U.L.F (Gulf United for Labeling Fisheries) effort
to develop a crawfish sustainability program.
Riceland Crawfish, Inc. acquires locally grown raw products from fishermen and producers
who follow LSU Ag Center and Natural Resources and Conservation Service
recommended production and best management practices
designed to enhance environmental sustainability.
When processing, Riceland Crawfish, Inc. follows all HACCP guidelines
and has on staff certified SQF and HACCP practitioners who conduct daily performance inspections.
The plant is also inspected regularly by FDA, LA Department of Agriculture,
and the State Department of Health and Hospitals
We are proud to meet all local government regulatory guidelines.
Additionally, Riceland Crawfish, Inc. undergoes annual
3rd party HACCP and Traceability inspections under SQF guidelines.
